Brief History Of The Boston Panthers

The Boston Panthers Football Club was founded by Delaney Roberts, a player in the EFL and a local businessman in Boston.

It was always a dream of Delaney's to start his own football team.  After years as a standout Wide Receiver on such EFL powerhouses like The Boston Cowboys and Randolph Oilers, Delaney founded the Roxbury Panthers in 2001.

In 2003, the team known as the Roxbury Panthers became the Boston Panthers in order to represent the entire city and reach more of Boston's most talented.

The Panthers proved to be a formidable opponent in the EFL and is recognized as one of the premiere teams in Country.

Boston Panthers had notable success in 2006 with an overall record of 9 - 5, 5 - 4, in the Eastern Football League.

During their inaugural 2007 NAFL (North American Football League) campaign, The Boston Panthers had their most successful season yet, posting a remarkable 13-2 overall record while capturing the NAFL North Atlantic Title and garnering the #1 seed for the NAFL playoffs.  The Panthers would then advance to the Regional Semi-finals only to lose to arch-rival, Brockton Buccaneers, in a sudden-death overtime thriller.

2007 proved to be a "coming out party" for the Panthers in a new league that predicted them to finish last in their division.

Notable victories included:

-Western Mass Blitzin Bears (Perennial NAFL title contender)

-New England Knights (Two time NFA National Champions) - 2 Wins

-Ocean State Vipers - 2 Wins

-Charlestown Townies (Perennial EFL title Contender) - 2 Wins

-Arbutus Big Red (Mason Dixon Football League Powerhouse)

Looking Ahead for 2008

The Panthers average over 1,000 people in attendance during home games and look forward to exceeding that mark in 2008 with your support.

On June 7, 2008, The panthers will  host the  New Jersey Terminators to kick-off their 7th season. This time, The Panthers plan to bring the NAFL Title Home to BOSTON.

Eyes on the Prize!
