Panthers pull out a tight one against a formidable Mill City Maulers
July 14- Boston - The Panthers improved to 2-0 against the New England Football League's AAA Mill City Maulers on the Panthers first annual Fight against Lupus game at Boston English High school.

The Maulers proved to be a tough opponent for the mighty Panthers as it was a defensive struggle for the first 1 1/2 quarters. The Panther defense was its usual self in stopping any offensive progress the Maulers could muster up via a standout game by the defensive live led by Hasan "Hos" Goode (13 total tackles) and constant pressure on the Maulers' QB. The opening score came midway through the second quarter when Lorenzo Marshall III (2TDs) sliced through the Maulers defense for a 9 yard TD run.

The Play of the game came with just 15 seconds left in the second quarter when Rodrick "Bama" Smith (2INT, TD) picked off a Maulers' pass and returned it 60 yards for a thrilling score. Going into halftime, the Panthers led the Maulers12-0.

As the Panthers kicked off the second half, the Maulers looked to last year's QB Alexis Colon to resurrect their offense. He was able to pass and run for a TD as the Maulers kept the Panther faithful on the edge of their seats. However, the Panthers showed their experience and grit in passing and rushing for 2 additional scores to put the game away midway through the fourth quarter.

Other Panthers who turned in a great performances include: Jug Alcindor, the entire Offensive line, Vladimir Joseph and Special teams.
