Panthers open their NAFL season with a shutout win against the feisty Aces
July 12- Boston - The Panthers improved to 3-0 (1-0 NAFL) against a much improved Pittsfield Aces squad at Boston English High school.

The Panthers came out swinging posting 14 pts on 2 first quarter turnovers led by the defensive player of the game, Derek "Deebo" Alcindor who was a terror against an overmatched Aces offensive line. He racked up 8 solo tackles, 3 sacks, 1 fumble forced and 1 fumble recovery. Roderick "Bama" Smith racked up another 2 INTs and 1 punt return TD for a first half score.

By halftime, the panthers had all but put away the feisty Aces team with an insurmountable 20-0 lead.

From there, it was all defense and a tough Panther running game behind Lorenzo Marshall Jr (165 yards on 15 carries 1 TD) and pin point passing by rookie QB PJ "P-Cutta" Matthews who went 12-18 and 197 yards on the day.

The Aces gained respect from the Panthers as they fought with pride and almost scored on several drives, but the staunch Boston defense just seemed to keep coming up with big stops and turnovers at the most relevant times.

The Panthers added a field goal in the fourth quarter to end the contest at 23-0 in their NAFL division opener.

Other top performers on the day included, Garrett Osuma, Todd Mathies, special teams and the entire Panthers offensive line, who did not allow any sacks.

Catch the Panthers as they travel to Milford, CT to battle the nationally ranked Connecticut Giants (Ranked 4th in the country in 2007) at Johnathan Law high school where the Panthers will look to welcome the great Giants team to the NAFL in style.
